Art Exhibit Opening: The new art exhibit, "Native Birds in Watercolor," opens at 1 p.m. in the visitor center at the Prairie Wetlands Learning Center, 602 Hwy. 10 East, Fergus Falls. Artist and birder Marion Otnes will be on-site until 4 p.m. to talk about her work and share stories of her life experiences as an observer and illustrator of birds and other wildlife.

Easter Egg Hunt: North Pines Market will host an Easter Egg Hunt at the Arvig Park softball fields in Perham, starting at noon. This free family event will feature an appearance by the Easter Bunny as well as egg hunts for both adults and children. Central Market will have some lunch and beverage options that day, as well. Over 8,000 eggs are available, with 150 prizes to be given.

Easter Egg Hunt: The Ottertail City Chamber of Commerce is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt in the Ottertail City Park, starting at noon. Four age groups will be in the hunt for more than 5,000 candy-filled eggs and 130 "special" prizes, until all of the prizes are claimed. The Easter Bunny will be on hand for photos from 12:15-1:15 p.m. No cost to attend.

Ben Lindquist Steak Feed: A steak feed benefit for Ben Lindquist, a local man recovering from the effects of a stroke, will be held at the Silver Moon, 1117 W. Main St., Perham, starting at 3 p.m. Open to the public.

Rick Adams: With over 30 years of experience entertaining crowds with bands like Burbank Station, Buffalo Alice and The Roosters, Rick Adams has a reputation of giving the audience a show they will always remember. He performs an acoustic show at 1894 in Perham starting at 7 p.m. Open to the public.

Empty Bowls Fundraiser: The Empty Bowls fundraiser for the Salvation Army returns to M State’s Fergus Falls campus for a 16th year. For a suggested donation of $20, attendees will receive their choice of soup in a handmade pottery bowl, which can be brought home. Serving is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Proceeds will go to support the Salvation Army’s efforts to fight hunger locally.

Red River Valley Veterans Concert Band: The Red River Valley Veterans Concert Band will be performing at the Center for the Arts at 105 5th St. NE, Fergus Falls, starting at 8:15 p.m. Admission is a free will donation.

Saturday, April 23

Ruby's Pantry: St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Perham is hosting a pop-up distribution for Ruby's Pantry from 8-10 a.m. For a $22-per-bundle donation, guests will receive an abundance of groceries. There is no income or residency requirement. Guests will need to bring 2-3 totes or baskets to receive their bundle.

Children's Author David LaRochelle: The New York Mills Public Library will host a 10 a.m. presentation by award-winning Minnesota children's book author David LaRochelle. In an interactive presentation, David LaRochelle gives insight on storytelling and shares the process of creating his great children’s books. Call 218-385-2436 for more information.

Ben Ranson Concert: All are invited to the New York Mills Regional Cultural Center for the final show in the Center's Spring 2022 Concert Series, featuring local musician Ben Ranson. JAIL, Inc., Community Service: JAIL, Inc., a nonprofit ministry working to make a difference in the lives of inmates at the Otter Tail County Jail during and after confinement, will present a community service hosted by New Creation Lutheran Church, 295 Coney St. W, Perham. Coffee and cookie fellowship at 6:30 p.m. and service at 7 p.m., featuring testimonies, guest speakers and music. Multi-Day and Recurring Events

The Gathering: The Gathering is a sporting collectibles, art, duck decoy and fish decoy show; in fact, it is the world's largest fish decoy show, with an average of 110 vendor tables for buying, selling and trading. Set for Saturday, April 23, from 9 am. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, April 24, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Perham Area Community Center. Pam Robinson Art Exhibit: The meeting room walls of the Perham Area Public Library will showcase the creations of local artist Pam Robinson through the end of April. Inspired by her travels, she has created a small collection of colorful highland cow paintings, Scottish Highland landscape and seascape assemblages, as well as a small sampling of travel journals and sketches. Perham Networking Opportunity: The Nest in Perham will host a one-hour free business networking opportunity on the first Wednesday of every month, starting at 8:15 a.m. Personal introductions, sharing of upcoming events and projects, and a focus presentation.
